    3. Flip pull tab to top of slider. Insert fork of tool into middle of slider until it stops.
    4. To open slider, push lower jaw of slider down with tool while holding pull tab firmly; slider will open.

Easy Replacement!

"In less than a minute this was replaced, perfect and just like new!"

Sllb (5/5)

Worked as advertised and item useable again

"I liked that using this replacement slider because I did not have to remove any of the existing zipper retainers on my separating zipper fleece jacket. Instructions said to cut old slider with cutting pliers but my old metal YKK slider was too tough to cut with good quality diagonal cutters so I had to use a cut off wheel attachment on my dremel tool (I had to go slow so as not to cut zipper) but it did work. My only suggestion to Dritz instructions would be to add a note that the fork tool provided is only used to open the hinge on the new slider and should take minimal force as you are not bending metal but instead only releasing the hinge latch which you later snap close once the slider is in place on the old zipper. I only gave a 4 rating as it would have been much easier to install if there was also a YouTube video on how to install as it could be challenging for some people to do."

Does the job

"Works well. But the included instructions could be better, The included tool seems like it is meant to unlock the slider hinge. But actually is more to hold the lower half while you use the pull to lever open the hinge."

One faulty

"One of the two zipper reapirs would not open and cracked"

Great replacement

"Just followed the online instructions and easily fixed the zipper with the replacement slider. So nice not to need to rip the old zipper out and replace the whole thing. Love it!"

Robertson5 (5/5)

waste of money

"I bought one of these $10.00 Fix-A-Zipper.. Make sure I got the right size. IT DOES NOT WORK."

Sorry I. (1/5)

Was too tight, impossible to slide

"I spent an hour trying to get this to work. Instructions were fine, zipper was simply too tight and would not slide at all. I could not even get the second side of the teeth to slide down into the bottom. Hopeless, tossed it in the trash."

C89898 (1/5)

Impossible to use

"Step #2 “remove the broken slider by using a pair of cutting pliers” can probably only be done with heavy duty factory pliers, not with home equipment."

María (1/5)

Perfect replacement

"I just got this to fix my husband's favorite fleece jacket. It is exactly what it says it is. A zipper pull replacement. Directions online were super easy to follow."

Ashakiwi (5/5)

Lots left out

"No zipper stop included, no instructions included (you have to go online), and it doesn’t flip to be used on a two-sided garment. Turns out it’s useless for me"

Q&A

Hello, I'm looking to purchase a replacement slider kit in a size 8. Is this available?
Hi Connie, thank you for your question. These will fit a size 5, not a size 8. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
I have an open teeth issue. I installed the zipper slide. It closed completely and both sides are well inside the slide, and it slides up and down freely, but the zipper doesn't close
Thank you for your question. Please contact us at pcusa.customerservice@prym.com, there is more information we will need from you to properly answer your question.
