You can use it to replace old sliders on various outdoor items such as sleeping bags and tents. This zipper rescue kit contains an assortment of sliders and bottom stops in different sizes.

Usage & Care

Usage Instructions:

Zippers that cannot be fixed: broken coils, missing teeth or damaged bottom on separating zipper.


HOW TO REPLACE SLIDER ON SEPARATING ZIPPER:

    1. Move slider to bottom and separate zipper.
    2. Remove top stop from slider side of zipper.
    3. Pull old slider up and off zipper.
    4. Replace with new slider.
    5. Replace top stop with a new one from kit, or whipstitch between coils to make a new stop.

HOW TO REPLACE SLIDER ON NON-SEPARATING ZIPPER:

    1. Rip out stitches around bottom of zipper. (It is not necessary to remove zipper completely.) Cut off bottom stop and any damaged coils.
    2. Remove old slider.
    3. With coils separated, insert each side of zipper halfway into slider; hold tape firmly and pull slider onto coils.
    4. Pull slider up zipper; add bottom stop or whipstitch over chain.
    5. Re-stitch zipper bottom into garment.

TIP: Reinforce tape ends with Fray Check.
