PREP FABRIC

Step 1: Print the pattern on A4 printer paper and assemble the pattern.

Step 2: Lay out the exterior pattern on the exterior fabric following the grainline, and cut out two pieces of fabric. Transfer the casing marking over using a Dritz mechanical marking pencil.

Step 3: Lay out the exterior pattern on the organza fabric following the grainline, cut out one piece of fabric.

Step 4: Cut out the two lining pieces.

EMBELLISH THE FRONT OF THE BAG

Step 5: On the right side of the bag front, using Liquid Stitch, glue down a layer of lace down the center.

Step 6: Baste down the organza bag front over the right side of bag front at ⅛” seam allowance.

Step 7: Add button loop braid: arrange 6” of button loop braid on either side of lace, at least 1.5” from bottom. Pin and sew down. Use Dritz fray check on ends of button loop braid to prevent unraveling. Allow to dry before proceeding.

Step 8: Add edge lace: pleat lace around the edge of the face of the bag front from the lower bag marking on the left to the lower bag marking on the right. Line up the bottom edge of the lace to the edge of the bag so that the top of the lace is inside the bag. Use an Omnigrid 6” ruler to help create pleats. Pin or clip lace down, then sew lace down using ¼” seam allowance
