Instructions:
LAYING OUT YOUR CUT PIECES
Step 1: Print the Template for the USA Letters. Cut out each letter.
Step 2: Use your Omnigrid Ruler/Cutting Mat and Rotary cutter to cut your fabric to approx. 6 inches high x 12inches wide.
Step 3: Cut your Heat-n-Bond to the same measurements of 6 inches x 12 inches.
Step 4: Iron your Heat-n-Bond to the back of each of your fabric.
Step 5: Using your marking pen, trace your Letters backwards on the back of your fabric piece that has Heat-n-Bond attached and then cut out each letter.
PRESS YOUR LETTERS
Step 6: Lay out your T-Shirt on your table. Peel the backing off your letters and place each one onto your shirt. Use your Omni-Grid Ruler to line up your letters. Using a hot iron press your letters onto your shirt.
SEWING
Step 7: Take your shirt to your sewing machine and do a 1/8 inch to a ¼ inch seam allowance around each letter.
FRAYED LOOK
Step 8: With each wash, your letters will fray and that will give it a more of an ‘worn’ look.
And you’re done! Congratulations on making the DIY USA T-Shirt.
