Supply List

Instructions:

Trim your towel

Step 1: Trim your towel to size. Cut two pieces, each about 36" x 24".

Step 2: Cut Pellon SF101 interfacing to fit, or piece it together, to cover the back of both towel panels (about 36" x 24"). This adds stability to the bag.

Cut a towel piece

Step 3: Cut another towel piece about 11" wide x 9" high for the interior pocket. No interfacing needed. Seal the raw edges with Fray-Check.

Making the pocket

Step 4: For the pocket: fold the bottom edge up 1/4"–1/2" and stitch a straight line. Repeat for the left and right edges.

Step 5: Fold the top edge down 1/2"–1" to form a casing, leaving both side openings unsewn for the elastic.

Thread the elastic

Step 6: Thread the elastic through the top casing, then stitch the side openings closed to secure the elastic.

Position the pocket

Step 7: Position the pocket on the liner panel and pin. Stitch down the sides and bottom to attach it to the liner.

Step 8: Fold both the liner and the outer panel in half, right sides together, and sew up both side seams. Leave a 4"–5" opening on side of the liner seam for turning later. Use clips to hold layers in place.

Turn the outer panel

Step 9: Turn the outer panel right side out.

Step 10: Pin the straps to the outer panel, about 4" in from each side seam

Step 11: Stitch the straps in place for added reinforcement.

Step 12: Insert the outer bag (with straps tucked inside) into the liner, right sides together. Align side seams and clip around the top edge.

Step 13: Sew around the top edge. Pull the outer bag through the opening in the liner to turn everything right side out.

Step 14: Fold in the raw edges at the liner opening, pin, and stitch closed.
