Step 1: Print the pattern from MotherSewsBestShop on Etsy. It includes three sizes; I used the medium size. After printing, cut out the pieces and tape the pattern together.

Step 2: Cut your materials — VersaFoam, outer fabric, and lining fabric — following the pattern pieces. 

Step 3: Fuse the outer fabric to the fusible side of the foam using your iron.

Step 4: If your foam is double‑sided fusible, you can also iron the lining fabric onto the back. If it’s not double‑sided, use basting spray to adhere the lining fabric to the non‑fusible side of the foam.

Step 5: Quilt the panel by sewing vertical lines approximately ¾ inch apart across the entire piece.

Step 6: Prepare your binding: Cut 3–4 strips measuring about 2½ inches × width of fabric. Sew the strips together end‑to‑end to make one long continuous piece. Fold the strip in half lengthwise and press; your finished binding will measure about 1¼ inches wide.

Step 7: Along the straight top edge of your quilted panel, place your binding strip with the raw edges aligned. Pin it across the entire top and sew it in place. You may cut this piece down to fit the length. The remainder will be used later. This attaches the binding to the top opening. 

Step 8: Fold the binding over to the opposite side and stitch it down. Trim any excess fabric along the edges for a clean finish. 

Step 9: Fold the bottom portion of your panel upward to form the envelope shape of your sleeve. Use binding clips to hold the sides securely. 

Step 10: Wrap your binding strip around the raw edges of the sleeve. Align the raw edge of the binding with the raw edge of the sleeve, clipping it all the way around.

Step 11: Sew the binding in place using a ¼‑inch seam allowance.

Step 12: Fold the binding over to the opposite side, clip it down, and hand‑stitch the binding using a needle and thread for a neat, finished look. 

Step 13: Attach your Dritz sew‑on snaps to the sleeve to create the closure.
